Are you a self-employed woman, or would you like to be a businesswoman, perhaps running a company out of your home? If so, I’d like to recommend a very good book to you. The book is; “101 Best Home-Based Businesses for Women – Everything You Need to Know about Getting Started on the Road to Success” by Priscilla Y. Huff, 1995.
In this book the author does not use a lot of hype although the title suggests so. The information in this book is actually quite down to earth, and I really couldn’t find anything wrong about what she was saying as I read it. If you are a woman looking to start a business, or if you already own a small home-based business, perhaps, you are selling something on the Internet, then I can very much recommend this book to you. She starts out the book by explaining how to evaluate your options and which business to choose.
She gives 101 examples in the book, all of them very interesting and she explains the financing options, and the difference between franchises, distributorships, and Home-based business opportunities. She even explains how you might start your business, on your own, using a program, business plan or a formula. In fact, there is a whole chapter on business planning.
In this book she lists all the types of businesses you might start from home in special categories such as; special event services, home services, personal services, health services, pet services, entertainment businesses, green businesses, craft businesses, computer businesses, and food type companies. This book is quite comprehensive and there is a lot of details in here, and therefore, I recommend this book to just about anybody, who is a woman. I suppose a gay guy might like this book too. Indeed, this book also makes a good gift for the women in your family. Indeed, I hope you will please consider this.
