As a long time Irvington resident I am convinced that good things do and can continue, to come out of Irvington Township. However, organizations and business must learn how to get the word out in ways that will entice people to come and take advantage of the wealth of resources.  Ray Horner Jr, Artist (www.rayhorner.com)

While many people have heard of what a press release is, they may not be quite so sure about what it is and how it can benefit their business. But make no mistake, a well-written press release can do wonders to help bring in business, along with other beneficial aspects.

“A press release is a highly effective tool in the business world,” explains Anna D. Banks. “The problem is, most people, businesses and non-profits organizations have no clue how to leverage the power behind it or just how beneficial it can be. It will be exciting to share this information with Irvington residents and businesses.”

During the workshop participants will:

•          Discover the value of publicity to your career, business or community

•          Use the media to position yourself as an expert in your industry, field or market

•          Create a professional image without feeling boastful

•          Get regular media attention

•          Create your first strategic campaign

•          Write an effective media release

In addition to the publicity and marketing workshop, the Irvington Library Centennial celebration will offer a series of programming throughout the year. The series will include financial literacy, poetry, children’s programing, and art and music programs throughout the year.  Please check the Library Website (www.irvingtonpubliclibrary.org)  for event dates and times.
